Why does Shane’s work captivate me? I has to do with circles. I am in favour of circles. We need circles.

Any piece of art that I’ve ever created has been on a round piece of wood or canvas.

And the moon! She moves from nothing to fullness, bathing us in great mystery, pulling us near, pushing us away…

The moon is always female. If you were a feminist in 1980, you’ll remember that title on a book of poems by Marge Piercy.
